A trading plan that fits on an index card

Markets, timeframe, setup, risk numbers and review schedule: the four lines that turn a vibe into a plan.

If it does not fit on a card, it is a vibe

Forty-page strategies are ignored at 2 a.m. A plan you can read in ten seconds is a plan you can obey under pressure. Four lines are enough.

Line one: markets, timeframe, session

One or two pairs. One timeframe. Fixed hours. Everything else is off-limits, including the coin that is "moving right now". Scope is the first risk control; most leaks come from trades outside it.

Line two: the setup, in one sentence

A twelve-year-old should be able to check whether it happened. "Long when price reclaims the four-hour range low after a sweep" is a setup. "When it looks strong" is a mood.

Line three: the four risk numbers

Risk per trade as a percentage, maximum leverage, daily loss limit in dollars, maximum trades per day. Write them on the card. Tape the card to the monitor if you have to.

Line four: the review

When and how you review: Sunday, thirty minutes, journal open, charts closed. The card changes only on Sundays. Changing the plan mid-week, in response to a trade, is how plans turn back into vibes.
